Con un aumento interanual del 9% en 2012, se convirti\u00f3 en\u00a0<strong>la segunda regi\u00f3n del mercado de m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido crecimiento en todo el mundo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio muestra que el prepago sigue siendo la opci\u00f3n m\u00e1s popular. En 2008 abarcaba el 83% de las conexiones tipo SIM, mientras en el \u00faltimo registro promediado que se dio en 2012 fue de 80%.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed, en la regi\u00f3n existen m\u00e1s SIM activas que personas en varios pa\u00edses, por la tendencia de un grupo a acumular SIM de prepago para aprovechar tarifas m\u00e1s baratas a la hora de llamar. As\u00ed, la penetraci\u00f3n de SIMs en la regi\u00f3n es de 104%, mientras que en el mundo es de 85%.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"GSMA05\" src=\"http:\/\/static.betazeta.com\/www.fayerwayer.com\/up\/2013\/11\/GSMA05-660x595.jpg\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\" \/><\/p>\n<p>En contraste, el n\u00famero \u00fanico de suscriptores &#8211; personas que tienen un plan &#8211; resulta muy variado, desde el bajo nivel\u00a0de Hait\u00ed con un 39%, al elevado 67% de\u00a0Chile. Las diferencias se explicar\u00edan por diferentes factores, como PIB per c\u00e1pita, competencia y acceso a los servicios en el pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n<p>Se espera que para 2017, la penetraci\u00f3n de suscriptores de la regi\u00f3n se sit\u00fae en 58%.<\/p>\n<h2>Internet m\u00f3vil<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"GSMA01\" src=\"http:\/\/static.betazeta.com\/www.fayerwayer.com\/up\/2013\/11\/GSMA01-660x595.jpg\" width=\"631\" height=\"273\" \/>Toda la regi\u00f3n est\u00e1 experimentando un\u00a0<strong>fuerte crecimiento en el n\u00famero de smartphones y dispositivos conectados<\/strong>, como port\u00e1tiles y tablets, se\u00f1ala el estudio.<\/p>\n<p>En 2012, la penetraci\u00f3n de smartphones<strong>\u00a0era de 20%, y se estima que para 2017 llegue a 44%.<\/strong>\u00a0Ello traer\u00eda consigo otros cambios significativos y consecuentes, como un aumento de las conexiones a banda ancha m\u00f3vil, que de acuerdo a GSMA pasar\u00edan de\u00a0<strong>130 millones en 2012 a 500 millones en 2017.<\/strong>En cuanto a tr\u00e1fico, se calcula que se generar\u00edan 723.000 TB, 67% m\u00e1s de lo que se genera actualmente.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n aumentar\u00edan las suscripciones en lugar del prepago, dado que las tarifas de contrato ofrecen con frecuencia precios subvencionados por los dispositivos, lo que los hace m\u00e1s accesibles para los consumidores.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"GSMA06\" src=\"http:\/\/static.betazeta.com\/www.fayerwayer.com\/up\/2013\/11\/GSMA06-660x595.jpg\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\" \/><\/p>\n<p>La base de conexiones m\u00f3viles en Am\u00e9rica Latina sigue siendo predominantemente de servicios 2G, que representaban casi el 80% del total de conexiones de la regi\u00f3n a mediados de 2013. Teniendo en cuenta que las redes LTE est\u00e1n a\u00fan por implantar en la mayor\u00eda de los pa\u00edses de la regi\u00f3n,\u00a0<strong>4G es responsable de menos del 0,1% del total de conexiones<\/strong>\u00a0(comparado con m\u00e1s del 1% en Asia-Pac\u00edfico y m\u00e1s del 13% en los EE.UU.).<\/p>\n<p>La proporci\u00f3n de conexiones 3G en Am\u00e9rica Latina est\u00e1 ligeramente por encima de la media del resto del mundo en desarrollo, que se sit\u00faa en un 16%.\u00a0No obstante, para 2017 los n\u00fameros parecen darse vuelta seg\u00fan el tipo de conexi\u00f3n correspondiente, como muestra el gr\u00e1fico de arriba.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"GSMA07\" src=\"http:\/\/static.betazeta.com\/www.fayerwayer.com\/up\/2013\/11\/GSMA07-660x595.jpg\" width=\"660\" height=\"495\" \/><br \/>\nComo \u00faltimo dato, queremos resaltar y destacar la diferencia en la penetraci\u00f3n de la banda ancha m\u00f3vil con respecto a la fija.
